Rory O'Flaherty lived at Killagh, County Galway, Ireland.

Held the office of Mayor of Galway in 1624.

John Blake held the office of Sheriff of Galway, during his fathers mayoralty in 1624.


59. Sir Valentine Blake

Was created a Baronet of Ireland July 10, 1622. Mayor of Galway in 1611 and 1630, and Member of Parliment (M.P.) for the Borough of Galway between 1613 and 1615. He was created 1st Baronet Blake, of Galway on 10 July 1622. He was invested as a Knight on 29 November 1622 at Ireland. Buried in St. Francis' Abbey, Galway in the chapel of St. Mary of Loretto, erected by himself. Will dated June 20, 1629 and proved 1634; and the Exchequer Inquisition, dated April 23, 1636 relating to him is on record.

Martin Darcy

Dominick Darcy died unmarried in 1666, and in his Will he left to his cousin, Martin Darcy, his lands in Clonuane. Martin Darcy, whose wife Catherine Blake, daughter of Sir Richard Blake of Ardfry, was himself transplanted to New Forest in 1656, where he was decreed respectively 1,024 and 181 acres. In the Transplant List for the Barony of Kiltartan, where he is described as a merchant, he also received 800 acres in the parish of Kinvara and Doorus.
